TerumoBCT Website Redesign

My role:

User Interface Developer

s8

TerumoBCT is a global leader in blood component, therapeutic apheresis, and cellular technologies. The company was migrating their website and changing content management system, as a result, they needed to redesign old pages, and design new ones.

What was done

I was brought in to collaborate with internal designers on designing product pages in figma and developing pages in Adobe Experience Manager, which was the company's new content management system and no-code website builder.

I was responsible for developing 40 pages in Adobe Experience Manager, some pages needed an English and Japanese version. I designed 6 of those pages following the team's established design system, and content structure.

Pages developed can be viewed below:

Why was it done

At the time, the company used Microsoft Sharepoint as their content management system. Due to limitations with the platform, an unmanaged design and content system, and internal company changes, the technology team decided to update the website by doing a complete overhaul of the website.

This involved logging and auditing existing pages, creating a new design system, identifying new pages, creating an information architecture and determining the best technology to implement the new website.

How was it done

By liaising with the internal design team, developers, and the content team. I was able to design and develop the pages needed to aid the team in achieving their goals.

Conclusion

Working with an internal team as an external contractor provided an interesting perspective as a designer, which many people don't get to see. This project highlighted the benefit of having a stable and confident team, that is fluid enough to achieve its goal

"...As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

...With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy"
